Everything you need to know about Winter Garden: a suburb of Orlando, Florida

There is so much to get out and do in Winter Garden. If you enjoy being active outdoors, beautiful Lake Louisa State Park in near by. With three major lakes, you can canoe, kayak, or paddle board. Or bring your bike and check out the park’s seven miles of paved roads or 20 miles of unpaved multi-use trails. They offer a variety of camping options including glamping, cabin rentals, campgrounds, and even primitive camping.

There are a handful of golf options nearby: Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge, offering two championship courses; a 9-hole short course; Central Florida’s Premier Golf Academy (PGA), the largest driving range and practice facility in America; and Kings Ridge and Sanctuary Ridge in Clermont, which capitalize on the naturally rolling terrain of Clermont for a special challenge. Bayhill and Isleworth are private clubs nearby as well.

All the theme park fun you can imagine, are right in your back yard. Universal, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, Magic Kingdom, Discovery Cove, and Sea World to name a few. Fun Spot America, an amusement park with go-karts and an arcade, or Andretti’s, for indoor karting, are also fun family activities.

If it’s retail your looking for, you’ll find many options under 30 minutes away. The Premium Outlets is a fantastic place for some great deals, Mall at Millenia is an upscale mall with many designer shops, and the Florida Mall, which is Central Florida’s largest shopping center with more than 250 retail, dining, and entertainment options will be sure to have what you’re looking for. For a more local vibe and just 6 miles from our community are Plant Street Market, a local community market with 20 vendors of natural and organic foods and handmade goods, and Downtown Winter Garden, a charming spot with specialty shops, museums, and art galleries. Both offer amazing shopping and dining options as well as an amazing weekly Farmers Market and cool community events—you’ve got to check them out!

International Drive is a great one-stop-shop option. Here, you’ll find attractions, shopping, dining, dinner shows, recreations, and nightlife. Hop on the I-RIDE Trolley and cruise in style while you discover miles of fun that make up this area. At just 20 miles away you are just close enough for it to be convenient but also just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the touristy area.

If you are looking to get your toes in the sand, approximately 1.5 hours in 3 different directions from Winter Garden you’ll find 3 different beach options: New Smyrna Beach north east, Cocoa Beach and Melbourne almost due east, and St. Petersburg/Tampa Bay to the west. Being centrally located in the state never felt better!

The Orlando International Airport is also a short 30 minutes away. With more than 880 flights per day on over 35 airlines, this airport is the perfect choice for domestic or international travel.

Horizon West, with only about one-fourth of its 23,000 acres built out, already has carved out a place among metro Orlando’s most successful newer developments.

Located just north of the Walt Disney World Resort, Horizon West today hosts more than 20,000 residents and, by at least some measures, is one of the three fastest-growing master-planned communities nationwide. Also, just behind The Villages in Sumter County, it has the second-fastest growth in Florida.
